CISA Exam Cram: Certified Information Systems Auditor Review by tom sawyer

usually the place to start, not as good on this one

I just took the cisa 3 months ago. walking into the exam I had security+, project+, ceh and cissp for certs. the exam is vastly different from all the ones I listed. while this book is 8 kigillion times better than some of the other stuff out there, you'll 100% need other material to pass the test. you'll pick up some things from this but this was the first exam I took where I looked at page 1 and said 'what the @!#$^&@!' as well as being there at the last 3 mins. the test is 4 hrs and 200 questions. you don't have time to waste on questions and this book does not cover enough material to keep the rated needed. I would definitely recommend this book over the other one I tried to read (and stopped because it was so bad. should have done more homework on books) but make sure you get the isaca material as well. after talking to people who have passed the exam, I have to met 1 person that said anything but the isaca material is what you need. I used this book as the start point, attempted to read another useless book and had some other materials. I did pass with a score a little shy of 600 but I completely was not prepared for this exam based on the review and time I dedicated on the listed sources. I have been 1 and done on all my exams but this one was the strangest by far. if you start here, do not forget to look at official isaca materials as well. hopefully you'll feel better about your score than I did while waiting *10 WEEKS* to get my score back. one would think for 500 bucks you'd have much better response time. guess again
