Implementing 802.11, 802.16, and 802.20 Wireless Networks: Planning, Troubleshooting, and Operations (Communications Engineering) Review by RF RDC
practical but the title is misleading
This book is a very practical approach to implementing outdoor 802.11 WLANs. However, you could get more info on WiMAx (802.16) and 802.20 from wikipedia. The author should have just stuck with 802.11 and used the recovered page space for a little more depth and breadth. I, personally, would not take this book as my only source for WLAN implementation; I see more technical complexity and business savvy involved than the author touches on. But the author does do a good job of describing what he does present and this alone is worthwhile. The book will help to frame up some technical details that don't always convey well from their mathematical underpinnings, or at least it will start you down the track to asking intelligent questions about the next step(s) you need to consider for your particular situation.
