The main objective of this work is to provide a readable text core ingredients that are essential for higher education and the most commercial programs on the system database. The first section discusses a number of contemporary architecture for database systems. Part two gives an overview of the main elements of a contemporary relational database management system: an interface, the kernel and the toolkit. Problem of distributed database systems are also discussed. The third section presents a discussion of the main techniques used in the design and implementation of database systems. It consists of three chapters that look at areas that have significant influence on the function of the database system: the problem of parallelism (donated by Professor Frank Sumner), the issue of 'intelligence' embedded and complex data handling.
