Currently there is a gap between research done in computer vision and robotics community. There are many similar characteristics in computer vision research and vision research in robotics. computer vision has seen the theoretical and methodological progress significantly over the last decade a lot of robotics researchers have not fully realized. Thus, in robotics the vision research should include consideration of control of the system, in other words, the perception-action loop as a whole.
