This chapter offers solid advice for any first timer. There are few entry-level 3-D graphics book that comes with a fully functional 3-D applications. Strata has been around for a while, and while Strata 3D does not have all the features of Strata Studio Pro does not, it still represents an excellent application with full rendering and the ability to save files. If you do not have 3-D applications yet, books and software on CD-ROM is the best way to get your virtual feet wet.
