The term Monte Carlo was first used to describe the method of calculation based on the opportunity in 1940, but the methods of the term itself was preceded by a century. Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) first appeared in 1982 and was also preceded by the development of methodologies related calculations. This book takes a similar approach with the classic Henry Schaefers book Quantum Chemistry (OUP, 1984 edition is now Dover), collect a summary of some of the most important document in the literature of quantum Monte Carlo, tying everything together with analysis and discussion of the application. Quantum Monte Carlo is a reference book for quantum Monte Carlo applications, including at the table every physicist of quantum chemistry, and many scientists and engineers in many disciplines, is destined to become classics.
