Central idea of the authors use Perl scripts - some of them on the client side, some of them on a network server - to handle a variety of dull, repetitive tasks. If you are proficient with Perl, and will further exploit the knowledge of developing capabilities with Microsoft's tools for automated administration, this book contains the information you want. The authors include the scheduled execution of script with in, winat, and scheduling a variety of aftermarket; explains how to run a script at logon, and deserve special praise for their attention to running the script as a service system. They also presented an interesting idea to write client-resident Perl scripts that update themselves as needed by consulting a master version of themselves on the server.
