The chapters in the book address the attitudes, affect, and subjective opinions. Various conceptual models and computational methods are presented, including distinguishing the attitude of a simple factual statement; distinguish between the author of the report s from reports of others opinions;?? and distinguish between the attitudes expressed explicitly and implicitly. In addition, many promising applications described advantages of the ability to understand the attitudes and influence, such as index and retrieval of documents by the opinion; automated answering questions about opinions; analysis of sentiment in the media and in discussion groups; analyze the discourse of clients in therapy and counseling; determine relationship between scientific texts; produce a more precise text, and the author created? In addition to English texts, the collection includes the study of French text, Japanese, and Portuguese. The chapters in this book are extended and revised versions of papers presented at the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) Spring Symposium on Exploring Attitude and Affect Text, which occurred in March 2004 at Stanford University.
