Technology is described as a contributor to part with the challenges higher education faces, and also part contributor to the solutions we need to explore. In this book there are three interwoven threads that constantly? This book is designed to occupy a unique niche in the literature accessible to the specialist library and publications, and by university teachers and planners. It examines the interfaces between the work done by four groups of university staff who have been in the past quite separate from, or only slightly related to, one another. The structure of this book has three main parts: the first primarily focused on education, the second focus on digital publishing, and the third was built in two parts the first to examine the overall implications for the development of science and scientific communication. This collection brings perspectives (in alphabetical order) from Australia, Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, Singapore, Taiwan, Britain and the United States?. Our ability to understand the extent of changes occurring in modern universities, and still needs to happen within the next few years, depends on our ability to synthesize ideas and experiences from a variety of university staff.
