Deploying Cisco Voice over IP Solutions is meant to help the organization's information technology (as well as engineers at service providers and, in this case, the expensive consultants) learn how to design, implement, and fine-tune VoIP systems based on equipment and devices software from Cisco Systems. Cisco's implementation of fax services (under T.37 and T.38) and unified messaging (under uOne) is closed also, but the authors leave most call-control problems to friends this book companion volume, Cisco CallManager Fundamentals: A Cisco AVVID Solution. The approach the authors', the most part, takes the form of a series of problems and engineering, in which answers to design questions is given with a lot of math support, equipment specifications, and references. In a discussion on setting up a VoIP network of the continent, for example, the author shows how to configure Internetwork Operating System (IOS) 12.x to act as a gatekeeper and interact with Wall CallManagers at both locations. - David Topics covered: Design and implementation-time considerations to building a Voice over IP (VoIP) network on Cisco Systems hardware and software.
