You can expect to see the scenario of solving complex problems on the actual test, which involves some weird zone DNS and WINS interaction - and this book will not only help you there. But, if you really wish to get certified, you'll need maybe two, or perhaps three, additional fine - and more profound - a book to pass the exam. This book is basically an introduction to WINS, TCP / IP, IPX, and DNS, with a light touch on the certificate and key. He does a good job to explain the basic TCP / IP addressing - the basic concept of the portion of the host and the network, TCP / IP architecture, and Windows 2000 IP Configuration commands are written well enough. However, more complex TCP / IP portion of which is not explained (on topics such as subnetting Class C network, or the reasons that admins will use OSPF over RIP) very well and may require several rereadings. Part IPX feels at times like a children's primer, with the concept of a short circuit on the important routing information. Who feel young and proceed to the SNMP Network Analyzer, which will let you know how to collect a large amount of information on your network, but not necessarily what to look for when you find it, or what should you do with it. The chapters DNS go into enough detail a little more, and surprisingly well written, explaining the concept of cleaning skills DNS zones and records. This, in fact, one of the better reasons to buy this book, if you're foggy on the basis of DNS, Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Administration will refresh your memory and fill the void with ease.
