You know Java well enough to write standalone applets and applications, even multithreaded, but you know nothing about the language skills to function network. Java Network Programming as an excellent introduction to network communications generally and in Java. Quickly, the author until the meat with a full explanation of Java network class InetAddress, URL-related classes, applet-specific networking methods, and sockets. The author also includes a package, Remote Method Invocation (RMI), and servlet. Serious weakness of this book is that it does not include companion disk, which is the case with most O'Reilly books.
