Brian Ward, author of The Linux Problem Solver, first gained fame as the author of the Linux kernel HOWTO document, a piece of public-domain of the Linux operating system documentation set. In this book, he stepped up from a secret recipe kernel and presents high-quality advice on Linux system administration. Generally, Ward neutral on the question of distribution of Linux, trying to explain the features they have in common, and explains the differences when necessary. In many ways, this book is an example of the traditional Linux documentation, with a discussion of the various commands what to do and when to use them. Note the chapter on printing, which does a great job explaining how these services work required universal (and may fail to work) under Linux -.
