This book was written to provide insight into development techniques are needed (and the options available) to work in the DotNetNuke framework. Along with the emphasis on the selection of appropriate extension methods, this book emphasizes the importance of improving the framework in the area as much as possible, and finally use the framework to gain from the developer, not just work with it. The framework provides developers with many extraordinary methods to extend the framework and build an application that is really strong, but at this writing, at least there is the API documentation, and overall development topics are spread across the Internet. New Module Packaging System (discussed in detail in Appendix D) provides module developers and skin designers with a choice that is needed a lot when it comes to deploying applications. Users do not need to have a comprehensive understanding of DotNetNuke before using this book because it discusses the early chapters of DotNetNuke good configuration and development environment, and careful consideration has been taken to ensure that the DotNetNuke-specific terminology is described as the books progress. Readers already familiar with DotNetNuke 4.x development will find this book valuable because it introduces many new features of the latest software version, although some early chapters for readers of this will become redundant because the whole concept of the environment and basic interface configuration elements are unchanged from 4.x to 5.x. As the title implies, this book mainly covers the development of techniques in DotNetNuke 5.x platforms. Although this book mainly focuses on the concept of module development, discuss the model of other extensions, such as skin and object authentication provider. The book begins with an introduction to development in DotNetNuke. The book then presents scenario-based models to introduce basic concepts of module development. Discussions lay the foundation for the most basic element of development in DotNetNuke. In short, the main contents of this book to create a working model that guides you through the development of the most common scenario, at the same time, it provides the details necessary to closely integrate custom code with the framework.
