Robots, Reasoning, and reification focuses on an important barrier that prevents the development of intelligent, autonomous robot: gaps between the ability to reason about the world and the ability to perceive the world and translate sensory data into a symbolic model. This capability is what enables living systems to see the world and see things in it. After exploring the gap between bottom-up approach and top-down for autonomous robots, this book develops the concept of reification of biological-based premise, and follow the development into the necessary components and structures that can be used to provide equivalent capabilities for intelligent robots.
