And after you read the new Sybex i-Net + Study Guide and pass the exam - as you graduate if you read this book carefully - you also will be able to join in the joy and revelry that comes with being one of those mysterious witch Understanding the Net. Okay ... (For one thing, our secret handshake Internet wizards have given all sorts of bad cramps.) But it is a laudable idea and well written basic issues involved in working with the Web, which is exactly what i-Net + is testing - and Whether you're a Net addict long term check your knowledge before the exam, or just a beginner want to position yourself for things that are better and bigger, this book will serve you very well. Given the breadth of topics that need to be covered, this guide is concise yet thorough. Topic maps closely with i-Net + objectives and range from the basics of internetworking and simple explanation of the protocol all the way up to mid-range explanation of the basic design concept of the Internet, i-Net troubleshooting, and security. The chapters on the basics of network and site functionality circulating to surprising that weak balance between too complicated for the beginner and too simple to pass the exam. However, some topics stand out are jumping too quickly: the programming language through too quickly, with the topic of up-and-coming big like Active Server Pages to get brushoff one paragraph, and the fact that potentially critical exam-VBScript only works in Internet Explorer browser only gets parentheses warning buried very deep text. Similarly, the explanation of the basics of HTML are too short and could use better organization (eg, the appearance of critical tag) for beginners up to speed simple HTML coding. There are 20 questions at the end of each chapter, with answers provided soon after that (I salute Sybex changes to make, because it turned all the way until the end of the book tr I? /> Disturb). There are introductory assessment test and final exam test, but for some reason Sybex chose not to let you know what the passing standards on this exam will be. (Try 75%, the actual graduation rate at i-Net +.) Tests on the disc and a set of electronic flashcards provide more testing exercise, even after taking all of them were still not clear whether the i-Net + expects you to install all the patches immediately or wait until the last minute. Despite some minor shortcomings, this is still a one-stop guide is very good for the addict certification.
