In recent years, power dissipation has become an important design constraint, equivalent to the performance, the design of new computer systems. Power dissipation issues have catalyzed a new topic in the field of computer architecture, so that a large body of work in a more efficient power architecture. This book aims to document some of the most important architectural techniques that were created, proposed, and applied to reduce both dynamic power and static power dissipation in the processor and memory hierarchy.
